Expressive Arts
All students are taught the subjects of Art, Music, Drama and Dance at KS3 so that they have the opportunity to perform and express themselves in practical and imaginative ways. The lessons are taught in the Expressive Arts Block which houses 3 Art rooms, 2 Music rooms, 1 Music practice room, 1 Drama room and 1 Dance/Drama studio. During KS3 (Sept 2011 onwards) all pupils will do 3 hours of drama or music or art or dance every half term.
At KS 4, students can opt to study 3 out of the 4 Expressive Arts subjects. We also offer GCSE courses in Art and Music plus BTEC courses in Acting and Dance. In order to enhance student enjoyment and learning there are also out of school visits to Theatres, Art Galleries and Music events.
There are also many extra curricular activities in Expressive Arts at lunchtime and after school. All the activities available are detailed within the extra curricular section of the website.
