Key Stage 3

Students follow a specialist ICT course. Teaching groups are set according to ability. Each group has one ICT lesson per week in a specialist room. Each student is guaranteed sole use of a computer for each lesson. Students follow units which are based on the Key Stage 3 National Strategy. This includes E Safety, web site creation, data handling, podcasting, animation, spreadsheets and much more. To access recources for KS3 please visit Fronter.

The ICT department offer lunch time clubs every dinner and afterschool club every Wednesday.

Animation Club

The Animation Club has been running on Thursday’s after school now for over 2 years. We produce a variety of Animations using different methods of creation and different programs.  The Palatine Animation Club aims to give students the chance to learn and develop the skills for making animations using computers and cameras. It’s easy to get started and get instant playback of recorded sequences. Working with 2D or 3D media and materials, students can learn:

Ø      storyboarding skills

Ø      character development

Ø      modelling skills

Ø      how to use the capture software and equipment

Ø      how to apply special effects

Ø      how to edit their movies and add sound

Ø      teamwork

The Animation Club is open to all years.

It meets every Thursday at lunchtime in IT3 from 1.30 - 2pm.
