Design Technology - KS3

Students will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of Design Technology through a range of Design and Make assignments.  The skills which they learn through these projects are built upon throughout key stage 3 so that students are prepared for the demands of the GCSE if they wish to continue with any of the Key Stage 4 option choices for Design Technology.

Technology - Year 7

Resistant Materials – Design and Make a key ring holder with a creature theme. 
Build the Best British Village.
Textiles – Design and Make a Bag.
Food – Design and Make Basic Food Dishes including Pizza.
Graphics – Design and Make the packaging for a fast food outlet for use in Food.
Design and Make a Key ring for a young person.
 

Technology - Year 8

Resistant Materials – Design and Make a working mechanism which uses cams.
Textiles – Design and Make a Soft Toy.
Food – Design and Make by Mass Production Techniques.
Graphics – Design and Make the packaging for a CD Case.
 

Technology - Year 9

Resistant Materials – Design and Make a decorative trinket box.
Textiles – Design and Make a cushion.
Food – Design and Make meals for Nutrition and Healthy Eating.
Graphics – Design and Make an entrance for a theme park ride.
