P.E. - KS4

Sports Key Stage 4

In Key Stage 4 all students follow the EDEXCEL BTEC syllabus.  The students must complete a minimum of 60 credits for an extended certificate and 120 credits for a diploma.    Included in the option system is the opportunity for students to take an additional qualification the Junior Sports Leadership Award where students develop the skills to enable them to organise sporting festivals and become leaders of sporting activities.

The theoretical aspect of the BTEC course is taught in one hour lessons throughout the two years of Key Stage 4.  Students are continually assessed through the completion of tasks within each unit.   There is no final examination for this course.  As we continue to develop as a Sports College it is our intention to provide students with more opportunities to gain sports related qualifications.

Should additional information relating to the curriculum be required, please contact Mr G Grant on 01253 336500.
