Key Stage 3
Every pupil at Key Stage 3 follows a scheme of work based on the Key Stage 3 Framework for Teaching Mathematics, published by the DfES.
In addition, pupils have regular activities to help with their mental skills and we have recently adopted some of the activities from the Cognitive Ability in Mathematics Education (CAME) to help with pupils’ thinking skills.
As problem solving is a major part of our work, pupils are given specific problem solving activities which use and apply the Mathematics they have learned; they will do at least five investigatory pieces of work in years seven, eight and nine also.
