The following courses are offered
This course is run in conjunction with CEA and ICAA. Students focus on how ICT can be used to help run a Leisure Centre.
Coursework 40% Portfolio of work submitted from applications of WP, DTP, Multimedia, Dataprocessing,Modelling, Control, Internet and E-mail
Timed Practical Task (20%) 5 hour practical session producing a specific ICT solution from a given brief from an organisation. This takes place in normal lesson time
Key Skills Exam (20%) Multiple Choice Exam
Terminal exam (20%) Final written paper
Tasks and training material can all be found on the Palatine Portal, available only to Palatime students. You will need to navigate to Subjects-ICT-Leisure Centre
This course is run in conjunction with OCR and Thomas Telford School. It is made up of a number of units – some 60 hour, some 30 hour. A GCSE equivalent qualification is obtained by successfully completing a combined 90 hour course of study.
Students follow a course made up of a selection of these units:
Unit 1 60 Hours Skills in Business (compulsory)
Unit 2 60 hours Web page Creation
Unit 3 60 Hours Digital Imaging
Unit 20 30 Hours Creating Animations
Unit 21 30 Hours Creating computer graphics
Unit 23 30 hours Creating Video
Students will follow a number of learning assignments, which will take under half the allotted time. The rest of the unit is taken up with the production which is marked to a given criteria.
The examination is based solely on the Portfolio. There is no final examination.
