Unit 1: Producing a web site
Students use web technology software to design and create a web site for a guest house owner. This will include images, sound and animation
Unit 2: Modelling
Studnets design, create and test a spreadsheet model to help the guest house owner with a cash flow forecast
Unit 3: Marketing: creating a logo; dataprocessing: mailmerge
Students design and create a range of marketing material - logo, database, mailshots - to help promote the guest house
Unit 4: Computer Control
Students design, create and test a number of computer control programs which could be used in a domestic situation.
Every year students from Year 7 and 8 take part in the Times Educational Supplement Newspaper Day Competition. Over the last 10 years we have always been awarded Commended, Highly Commended or Distinction, thereby being invited to the Houses of Westminster for the awards presentation.
