Unit 1: Producing a multimedia presentation
Students design and create a multimedia presentation promoting Blackpool as a place to visit. Sound, images, video clips are all used.
Unit 2: Producing promotional material
Students use a DTP package to design and create a leaflet advertising actvities in a given area
Unit 3: Modelling
Students design and create a spreadsheet which will forecast income, expenditure and profit for a school holding a disco
Unit 4: Data handling
Students design and analyse a database to test a given hypothesis.
Unit 5: Computer Control
Students use a control package to design a number of flowcharts to perform given tasks
Every year students from Year 7 and 8 take part in the Times Educational Supplement Newspaper Day Competition. Over the last 10 years we have always been awarded Commended, Highly Commended or Distinction, thereby being invited to the Houses of Westminster for the awards presentation.
