Mobile phones should NOT be brought into school. Any student seen in possession of a mobile phone, or indeed any other electronic item, e.g. MP 3 Players, I-Pods etc, then these should be confiscated immediately.

Hairstyles

To maintain the positive ethos of the school, we ask that all students maintain hairstyles suitable for school. The school reserves the right to consider what constitutes an inappropriate hairstyle, and may send students home if deemed necessary.

Protective Clothing

Some form of protection is often advisable when working in Art. The teacher will inform students as necessary.

The Health & Safety regulations requires that protective clothing be worn in certain practical lessons:

SCIENCE

Students working in laboratories must wear protective googles and plastic gloves when using chemicals and/or apparatus.   Both of these items are provided by the school and students to ask them to where them at appropriate times throughout the lesson.

TECHNOLOGY

Students need to provide an apron and wear protective goggles when working in technology. (School will provide the goggles)

General Information

Ideally all items/garments need to be clearly labelled on the inside with the name of the student to help with the speedy return of lost items.

Help with cost of school uniforms may be available to parents.  If eligible, parents/guardians may be able to receive a cheque from the local authority to help with the costs of school clothing.  The amounts do vary from £20 to £50 depending on which school year your child will be entering into each September.
