Palatine's Home School Agreement

What the school expects of parents and guardians:

  • to ensure that students have regular attendance and punctuality
  • to provide clear reasons for student absence
  • to adhere to the policy of leave of absence
  • to make sure that students know they support the school’s policies
  • to actively encourage and influence to foster a positive attitude and good behaviour in school
  • to support the school in maintaining discipline for the good of all
  • to tell the school about any issues that might affect a student’s work or behaviour and provide such information as the school shall require for educational purposes
  • to support the school’s homework policy
  • to attend parents’ evenings to review progress at mutually convenient times
  • to provide full school uniform and necessary daily equipment for their student
  • to display a willingness to play a full and active part in the education of their child
  • to read reports sent by the school and respond to them and any other school correspondence
  • to provide full support for all decisions made by the Headteacher and the Governing Body with regard to the management of the school.

What the school expects of all students:

  • to attend school regularly
  • to attend school on time
  • to remain in school, unless following the procedure to sign out
  • to carry a lunch pass if it is agreed by parents that students may leave the premises at lunch-time
  • to maintain good behaviour at all times and be respectful to staff
  • to keep the Code of Conduct expected in school, responding to teacher instruction without question
  • to complete a student planner on a daily basis, recording homework
  • to complete homework and coursework as set, within the given deadline
  • to accept responsibility to copy up all work missed as a result of absence
  • to represent the school both in and outside school in the appropriate manner
  • to maintain the correct school uniform throughout the course of the day
  • to strive to make individuals targets set
  • to take as full a part in the life of school as possible
