The Palatine Soul Band met up with MP’s Alan Johnson and Gordon Marsden after providing music for a dinner in their honour at the Stanley Park art Deco Café on Friday the 11th of March. The concert came about after the owner of the café spotted the Soul Band playing at their first ‘professional’ gig in a local Blackpool Music Venue on Tuesday the 8th of March. Both Mr Johnson and Mr Marsden were very impressed with the quality of the music and the professionalism of the band in their performance. They had lots of positive things to say to the band and about Palatine’s involvement in community events. Members of the Band on the night included Brian brown (trumpet), Katie Husband (saxophone), Matthew Smith (trombone) and Joe Platt (drums). 2 members of the band who played on the Tuesday, Philip Marsden (piano) and Charlotte Conchie (clarinet) were unavailable for this performance. It is hoped that there will be more performances in the near future.
