Charity Work

Donna's Dream House

Palatine has been working hard to raise funds over most of the last school year and to date over £2,600 has been raised.

This initiative has been driven by a group of 4 students who are now in Year 11.  The enthusiastic students have organised a variety of fundraising events that include making and selling refreshments, bag packing at Tesco, taking part and helping the Hilton Hotel organise a 5k run and family day as well a very successful non uniform day with lots of activities taking place on the field.  The day was great and it ended with a fantastic concert in the school hall.

Many people attended the school on the day including the Mayor and Lady Mayor, our local MP Gordon Marsden and representatives from the Hilton including the general manager and Len the father of Donna was very proud and moved by the enthuisaism that our student body displayed.

The 4 students are keen to carry on with this work but also want to involve other students and as such a Charity Committee is to be created so that such successful fundraising events can continue when they leave Palatine.

Well done and a massive thank you goes to Sam, Aaron, Grace and Ellie who gave up their time to organise such inspiring events that create such a positive ethos about the school in the community.

A massive thank you also has to go to Len who officially opened the school's brand new climbing wall  towards the end of last term.
