Primary Liaison
At Palatine we are committed to providing a wide range of enriching opportunities and activities for our local primary schools. We are passionate about developing strong links with all local primary schools to help younger children settle in to secondary school in a confident and settled manner.
Since September we have offered primary schools a “Year Six SATs Revision Morning” which have worked extremely well. So far Thames and Haweside have joined for a morning of intensive revision to help them in the tests that they will be taking at Primary Schools later in the year. Very positive feedback has been recieved from both primary school and pupils. We also offer primary schools the opportunity to come and see our performances in Expressive Arts such as our Christmas and Summer Shows. Toward the end of the year we run a series of highly successful “Year 5” days which provide year five pupils from a number of different schools with a fantastic, positive experience of secondary school.
As we are a sports college we have two dedicated members of staff who work with primary schools and run sporting activities and clubs actually in primary schools. As well as this we also offer Literacy support.
The school is committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for all local primary school students. The Headteacher, Head of Year Seven and Learning Mentors make regular visits to primary schools to build strong and productive partnerships and gather as much information about how we can meet individual students’ needs before they may start at Palatine.
Gifted and Talented Numeracy Quiz for Year 6 students is on the 26th of November.
